MMO Champion has datamined the new druid T9 set bonuses and idols that will be coming with patch 3.2, along with a slew of other things, including some weapon graphics.
Let’s take a look at the druid set bonuses and idols, shall we?
- 2 Piece – Decreases the cooldown on your growl ability by 2 seconds and increases the duration of your Rake ability by 3 seconds
- 4 Piece - Increases the damage reduction granted by Barkskin by 10% and increases the critical strike chance of Rip and Ferocious Bite by 5%
- Idol – While in bear form, your Lacerate and Swipe abilites have a chance to grant 200 dodge rating for 9 seconds, and your Mange and Shred abilities have a chance to grant 200 agility for 16 seconds.
- 2 Piece – Your Moonfire ability now has a chance for its periodic damage to be critical strikes.
- 4 Piece – Increases the critical strike chance of our Starfire spell by 5%
- Idol – Each time your Moonfire spell deals periodic damage, you have a chance to gain 200 critical strike rating for 12 seconds.
- 2 Piece – Increases the critical strike chance of your Nourish spell by 5%
- 4 Piece – Your Rejuvenation ability now has a chance for its healing to be critical strikes.
- Idol – Each time your Rejuvenation spell deals periodic healing, you have a chance to gain 234 spell power for 9 seconds.

So, what do I think of the Resto set bonuses? Honestly, they feel kind of meh.
The two piece bonus seems to be yet another push to add nourish into our rotation and make it a more attractive spell, but unless Blizzard is significantly changing something about our other spells, I just really don’t see nourish to be anything more than a niche heal for when we need to heal tanks. I very much doubt that I will become a raid healer that is spamming our version of FoL around on the raid. Currently Nourish counts for less than 5% of my overall healing in a raid night…I just really don’t see that changing very much.
The four piece bonus is interesting…I guess. The first question I suppose would be when does the rejuv crit? A random HoT tick? At the cast of the rejuv, so that the entire duration of the rejuv is a crit? My rejuv critting when I need it to crit would be great! But while it sounds good in theory, is it really that wonderful? Having no control over when these crits will happen makes it a little bit undesirable, I think? My guess will be that 80% of my rejuv crits will be wasted on people that don’t need the extra heals anyhow. Of course, if people are going to continue to take ridiculous amounts of raid damage, like they are in Ulduar Hard Modes, maybe it will prove somewhat worthwhile? I am not sure that it is going to be good enough for me to give up my 4 piece T8 bonus (assuming they don’t add a glyph to compensate). Bleh. (Sorry Averna, I guess I am the Eliza Dushku to your Kirsten, I just can’t get as excited about it, yet). I guess I will have to wait and see what the testing shows.
The Idol is probably the best of the things shown. Although, it too, is still a little underwhelming. Things that grant periodic spell power aren’t really as fantastic for healers as they would be for a dps class. My preference is not to play Russian roulette with how effective my heals are going to be. I’d much rather have a constant spell power than a proc or on use effect. I suppose if the internal cooldown on the proc is low, this could be desirable, but with the changes to replenishment coming and what is Blizzard’s continued push towards favoring rejuv, I’m not sure that I want to give up my current mana saving rejuv idol.
