Lot of good points, but I’ll just comment regarding cost.

During my break from wow last year, I spent about $200 on books in two months alone! XBox games run ~$50, and I bought several. And so on. I can’t afford to NOT play Wow!

I still read/do other things, but at a more moderate pace when I’m playing Wow. More better.

Because I’m obsessive compulsive and I don’t like leaving things unfinished.. lol.

I hate the idea of Keeva stagnating while there are new levels, new raids, and new achievements to check off.

for me, it’s #1, 2, and 3.
1. in my guild are a some great people who i’ve met in RL and consider friends.
2. i’m still having fun too. right now, there always seems like something to do, from raiding with my druid, gearing up my hunter, or trying to level up my many alts.
3. and it is cheap entertainment. for $15 a month, there’s hours of entertainment.

but i think i’d give up WoW if my friends stopped playing and/or if there was nothing to do.

I play for all of your reasons (well except #4…no offense Brade) but another significant thing that keeps me hooked is being involved in an going, evolving story. A story that I LOVE, especially since I played the older games. I find myself personally, intensely interested about what will happen with Garrosh, with Deathwing, with the Emerald Dream, etc. It’s like being in an ongoing book series or something?

I have no idea how to answer that question today. I’m thinking more and more that Wrath might be my last expansion. However, that could just be a bit of boredom and the stack of console games waiting to be played talking.
