You are making me wish we could paint! Ah well, it's a good rental house besides that small detail.

Thank you for all of the tips everyone!!! :)

Also, I am starting to wish that I was all star trek like and able to just port my belongings from one place to the other so that they would just be there! Phew!

I love both of the colors! My room at my parents house is yellow (on all four walls!) and that's because my mom talked me out of red. So I may be biased...but I love bright, bold colors.

Finally, a chance to talk about my years of useless furniture-shopping knowledge! YES! <3 Beru.

Places on my hit list whenever I need a new piece for my house:
- Pottery Barn (classic and clean, moderately priced)
- Crate and Barrel (classic and modern, moderately priced)
- CB2 (modern and trendy, the sister to Crate and Barrel, inexpensive)
- Z Gallerie (modern to funky, furniture is mostly in-store only, online is limited, moderately priced)
- Restoration Hardware (classic and slightly expensive)
- IKEA (modern and inexpensive, I'll only buy solid wood products from them since everything else breaks too easily)
- Room and Board (modern and my current favorite home source, slightly expensive but outstanding quality)
- Design Within Reach (modern designer pieces, expensive but the place to go if you like that style)
- Bo Concept (modern and clean, on a similar level as Crate and Barrel)
- West Elm (modern and clean, moderately priced)
- Horchow (every style and then some, slightly expensive)
- Ethan Allen (classic and clean, can sometimes be slightly old fashioned but has solid pieces)
- And if you're looking for some good ideas, I'd always recommend stopping by apartmenttherapy.com (I actually was just on there last night checking out a place in Seattle that features Sustainable Goods--NuBe Green).

There. I think I've embarrassed myself enough for one day. Happy hunting! ^_^

Furniture stores have clearance sections. Floor models, returns, scratch+dent = cheap but good.

Also, look for going out of business sales. My wife and I bought our dining room table from a company that was on its last legs (yes, pun intended.)

The red paint looks nice. I'd probably go for something more along the lines of your background color for this blog instead of the yellow though. I'm a bit weak for moccha/latte colors, that's just me though :) I hope whatever you pick turns out great!

Oooo, I like the red, and I'm not even a fan of Red, generally speaking... the Yellow.. well, but with all the texturing options they have today on paint jobs, you could probably tweak it a bit if it doesn't come out the shade you wanted.
