TLC isn’t really the place to go for home decoration stuff these days though – HGTV is really where it’s at. Even then, the only really watchable program is Income Property, where a hot Canadian helps people make an apartment space in their homes into a rentable suite. It’s pretty fun. :o

For the cabinet, I like the idea of a runner and maybe a shallow bowl (glass or maybe crystal) with some decorative rocks in complementary colors. Maybe a candle or two if you are of the candle using persuasion.

I was a bit nervous when I first picked the color, but it just warms up that room so much.

I think that the table will work well for us. I found a marble topped french “kitchen” table at Crate and Barrell that I fell in love with, but I couldn’t justify the cost of it without knowing if I’d get any use from it. Maybe next time!
