Seven days.

That is how long I have spent in the world of boxes, bubble wrap and packing tape.  Somehow we have managed to unpack every last box – a true feat considering that the last time we moved it took my mother coming to visit, over a year after we moved, for me to finish unpacking the last few boxes.  Yet every box is empty.  Save the one in the closet with the random old computer bits and pieces that we looked at and went “this box is perfect for storage!”, and then promptly shoved into the closet.

Since I shared my painting experiences, I thought that perhaps I’d also share the completely finished products 🙂

The Red Wall

I am still absolutely in love with this wall.  In fact, this room has easily become my favorite room.  It really did turn out very well, I think.  I’m still debating if I want to put something on the top of that cabinet or not, as I’m not entirely certain if it will detract or clutter the picture.  (Please forgive the grainy picture – iPhone + dark room doesn’t mesh well, and a new digital camera is still on my “wish list”.)

The Yellow Wall

This wall has grown on me quite a bit now that the room is filled with our office equipment. I am quite pleased with it, my only gripe are the ugly wires coming down the wall where we mounted the television. I intend to put some sort of decorative foliage there – if I could only find something that I like.

The Table

We did search a bit for a table, and opted to nab one at Ikea. You see, having our office in what was officially our “dining room” and eating at our computers for the past four years left some doubts about our ability to sit down and enjoy dinner properly. As such, we opted for a more economical option to see if we will make use of it (as something other than a catch all) before “upgrading” to something a little fancier. I’m fairly pleased with how it turned out, and I’m proud to say that we had our first meal at said table this evening! 🙂

That will conclude Beru’s version of whatever the TLC home decoration show du jour currently is – and we will now be returning back to WoW 😉

On that front…I captured some video of our last heroic Al’Akir kill that I am working on putting together for a video guide.  Sadly, I didn’t have any clutch cat sprint squall line dodging this go, but I’ll be sure to add in some tips and tricks in the commentary!

  1. What a lovely place. I see painting on my horizon soon. You have inspired me.

As for the wires, the do have tubes that gather them together so it looks cleaner.

    • We have one of those on the TV in the front room, as we mounted it over the fireplace. The problem with this one, though, is that the mount is telescoping, so that we can adjust it depending on who is watching it. And the cord clean up tubes won’t work as well. 😦

Thank you, though! I’m really happy how it all turned out!

  2. I love that picture you have on the red wall– my parents have had a copy of that exact same painting too for years and it reminds me of home 😀

  3. That looks fantastic! I’m too chicken to paint any feature walls, but I love the look 🙂

  4. It all looks great! The red wall is possibly my favourite – it’s a colour I really enjoy. I have similar colourings in my living room – only reversed; red couch and tan/light mocca walls. It looks really neat with a feature wall in colour like you have though.

The dining table looks perfect as well. You seldom need a bigger one anyway – I have a huge one in my new place, and so far have used it maybe 3 times in 6 months. Living alone I tend to eat by the TV *lol*

    • That red wall just turned out so well, I can’t even tell you how pleased I am with it. I was a bit nervous when I first picked the color, but it just warms up that room so much.

I think that the table will work well for us. I found a marble topped french “kitchen” table at Crate and Barrell that I fell in love with, but I couldn’t justify the cost of it without knowing if I’d get any use from it. Maybe next time!

  5. Very shiny. I particularly like the red wall (wonder about a small plant on the cabinet?) and the table looks great too. Congrats to it all!

  6. Love it!

For the cabinet on the red wall, you could get/make a nice decorative runner. It would had some color and decoration without the “clutter” of stuff.

Good luck with the table! Ours is large enough to let us eat at it AND be a catchall. 😦

  7. Ok, scratch my comment on your previous post.

While yellowish colors are not for me, I admit that it looks very nice for your office/computer room. Sunny.

And damn, great job with the unpacking. That was fast! I am well known to keep many boxes unpacked for months (or years) when I move.

    • The yellow really grew on me as we filled the room. I was hesitant about it at first, and a little worried with my color selection, but it turned out really nicely once everything was finished 🙂

Honestly, I’m just thrilled that we are unpacked. We worked so hard over the past week, I’m ready for some down time!

  8. I love the colors! ❤ and Hooray for Ikea furnitures, they are good! =)

  9. I love the colors and your furniture fits well with them. For the cabinet, I like the idea of a runner and maybe a shallow bowl (glass or maybe crystal) with some decorative rocks in complementary colors. Maybe a candle or two if you are of the candle using persuasion.

  10. Looks VERY nice! I am impressed.

  11. Nice! TLC isn’t really the place to go for home decoration stuff these days though – HGTV is really where it’s at. Even then, the only really watchable program is Income Property, where a hot Canadian helps people make an apartment space in their homes into a rentable suite. It’s pretty fun. 😮
