You want to get your guild one of those new feasts ASAP, but don’t have a clue how you are going to cook up 5,000 things, or fish 10,000 fish?
No problem! I’ve got your answer!
Step 1: Purchase the recipe for Starfire Espresso.
Step 2: Purchase 5,000 Cocoa Beans *Adjust the numbers as you need.
Step 3: Purchase 5,000 Fresh Water *Adjust the numbers as you need.
Step 4: Brew and go AFK. Our brewer (and chief feast strategist) shared all of the delicious coffee with the guild via mailbox!
Step 5: Profit. *Note that the feast gained from fishing is better – but this will at least get a feast under your belt for raids.
Total Cost – Between 1,000 and 1,500 gold.

Nice idea. The water alone will cost around 5k gold. I imagine a bit cheaper after reputation discounts, but still pretty expensive.
Wowhead doesn’t have the price on the Cocoa Beans yet.
The water only costs about 375 gold. It is 1.5 gold for a stack of 20. You need 250 stacks to make 5,000 cups of joe. 250 * 1.5 = 375
We did it last night – beans, water and all …for around 1,000 gold 😛
Granted, we only had to make ~4,000 but the total cost to us was still very cheap, respectively.

According to Wowhead purchasing the recipe requires Honored guild rep, which none of our members have because our guild reps have been capped for the week since Wednesday =(

No, that is correct. However, you will be able to gain guild rep again tomorrow (Tuesday) with the reset, and you should be able to reach honored at that time 🙂
individual guild rep cap is 3500 per week.
last week brought everyone all the way through neutral and 500 points into friendly.
leaving 5500 points in friendly until you hit honored. so not after this tuesday reset, but shortly after next it should kick in.

I was 3666 points into friendly with my guild rep before it stopped awarding it for this past week, needing roughly 1400 reputation to reach honored. I am now gaining guild rep for the new week and should hit honored tomorrow, assuming that I am allowed 3500 points this week (I’m tired and going to bed tonight!).
I do not know if it’s a bug or because we started playing with the midnight release – but just about my entire guild is sitting somewhere in the vicinity of 3500 rep into friendly already.

I have a little question, maybe you can help me out… my bf and me are in a small 2-man-guild for just both of us. Will it EVER be possible for me to gain this reciepe? Or are we stuck in our lonelyness? I love cooking 😦
I’m not Beru, but I don’t see why not. You need guild rep for buying the recipe, and the rep is per character (as you do quests, your rep with the guild increases). If you and/or your boyfriend were active this past week, then on this reset you should get honored, thus able to buy the recipe.
Thanks for the awesome idea! Presented it to guildies and in a matter of an hour or so we had it done. Now….just to finish distributing all the drinks that are now in the guild bank lol

Or you could just use Goblin Barbecues, which are identical in stats to Broiled Dragon Feasts.
Personally I made about a dozen barbecues in the course of leveling up my engineering, but nobody seems to be biting on the auction house – I’m beginning to think no one knows they exist.
I tried this out this morning (making a batch of 100 espressos) and didn’t see the count on our guild achievement tab go up at all. Thinking that it was possibly a reporting delay towards the achievement I made something else that was a cata recipe that took a lootable component like toughened meat and saw it go up immediately. Anyone else have similar results?
